Ethics and Transparency

Norte Fluminense shares values and ethical commitments that permanently inspire and guide the actions of all EDF Group’s employees in the world. To offer the highest standards of integrity, behavior and business performance, the three values of the EDF Group are respect, solidarity, and responsibility.

The EDF Group’s Code of Ethics is aligned with the United Nations Global Compact, of which it has been a signatory since 2001. The Compact gathers companies around the world committed to respecting the application of the ten principles of human rights, labor, and the environment and, since 2004, the fight against corruption.

According to EDF’s Code of Ethics, each employee of the Group undertakes to:

  • Respect people
  • Act with integrity
  • Protect the properties and respect the concerned parties
  • Be an advocate of the Group and ambassador of the ethical behavior

ETHICAL AND HONEST BEHAVIOR

The Company promotes a business policy with honesty and ethics, which sustain the best practices regarding the relationship with clients, suppliers, partners, service providers, competitors, employees and any other person related to the provision of its services.

Every ethical action is based on a set of values. Directors, Officers, executives, and employees in external or travel services must comply with the EDF Norte Fluminense’s policies and standards.

ETHICS CHANNEL

The Ethics Channel exists to ensure an independent and autonomous ombudsman for records of complaints, suggestions for improvements and clarification of doubts about conduct, providing a prompt and consistent action against violations of this Manual. The operation of the Ethics Channel is structured in such a way as to ensure the anonymity of complainants who so wish.

ETHICS COMMITTEE

EDF Norte Fluminense has an Ethics Committee composed of representatives specially selected for such mission within the company. They are responsible for disclosing and ensuring the understanding of the company’s Ethics Manual, regularly assessing its applicability, judging cases of noncompliance with its principles and values, and ensuring that appropriate measures are taken.
